Motorola Introduces SCREEN3: 'Zero Click' Access to News, Sports, Entertainment and More

More reason's to buy the new V557:
Motorola, Inc.a global leader in wireless communications, today announced
SCREEN3 -- an innovative technology solution that lets consumers get news,
sports, entertainment, and other premium content and services directly from
their mobile device home screen (no buttons to push, no browsers to launch).
Motorola's SCREEN3 includes a media gateway server to manage content and
client technology to create media channels on the device home screen,
providing consistent content management from back-end to device. The solution
also provides "smart synchronization" so only new, fresh content gets
delivered to the device, minimizing network traffic and increasing consumer
satisfaction. The result? Content is displayed simply and seamlessly on the
mobile phone home screen, finally making it easy for consumers to find and use
wireless data services.

"Subscribers want the latest mobile content without having to click,
scroll and hunt through menus for it," said Cheryln Chin, Corporate VP, Mobile
Software Solutions, Motorola. "And network operators want to be able to do
more with mobile data services. With Motorola's SCREEN3 solution, we address
both sets of needs, making the mobile phone the next major media gateway by
putting content where it belongs, in front of subscribers' eyes, zero-clicks
away."
Motorola's SCREEN3 solution is designed to help operators drive mobile
data usage and generate revenue. Operator studies show a drop off in users
with every click that it takes to access content. By placing targeted content
and promotions on the device home screen -- where it's easy access and
impossible to miss -- subscribers are more likely to try and use data
services. In addition, Operators can leverage an additional channel for
special promotion offers and services.
Cingular Wireless will be the first network operator to offer Motorola's
SCREEN3 solution. Motorola worked closely with Cingular to incorporate
SCREEN3 as part of Cingular's new MEdia Net Live Ticker service, which
delivers pre-selected content such as breaking news, weather and sports
information directly to consumers' phone displays. Together, the two
companies customized the solution and user interface to meet the needs of
Cingular subscribers -- providing them with quick, seamless access to all the
rich content they've always enjoyed as part of the MEdia Net experience.
SCREEN3 is featured today on the Motorola V557 for purchase from Cingular
Wireless and will be available on a variety of additional Motorola handsets
over the next several months.
